Soft pastel, oil pastel, pencils and etc.

Hi, my dear friends!

We started in September. I have some pictures to share with you.

We made some exercises with colors, lines, spots and textures. Than we tried to think about how it can help us to make pictures from our imagination or from the world around.  Our trip with "Dry media" is almost over.

Enjoy our pictures in Gallery

Hi, my dear friends!

I hope that all of you have spent wonderful holidays. I will be glad to see my students full of impressions and new ideas to share with everybody.

I would like to share my inspiration of this summer.

Elena Makarova. The Teacher, the Artist, the Master... she is really great!!! To read her books was like... to  meet a person that understand your problems, meet the same difficulties... So I am in a process of  revising  my course.

Find her books and enjoy:

I hope to see you soon,

Sincerely yours,

Alla

P.S. This is another part of my Summer

Easter Fair

On the 18th of April, took place the Saturday Easter Fair "City of Masters".

There were a lot of interesting things, including an exhibition of children's work. O. Svyatoslav, priest of the church of St. John Chrysostom, kindly provided the premises of the church itself, as the weather was windy and was concerning the safety of the masterpieces of our little masters. Not only did the children have the opportunity to exhibit their work, but also to see the creativity of their friends.

The fair was a great success. I would like to thank everyone who helped in the design of the fair and those who provided pictures for the exhibition.

Sincerely Yours,

Alla

Watercolor session

Couple days ago I sorted out pictures after watercolor session.

The groups were different in ages, so different tasks were set. Someone just learned to keep a brush and studied how mix watercolor paint with water. Other students were building their  project step by step, using their knowledge about wet paper or dry brush techniques.

For more pictures? See the Gallery.

As for me, it was  a meeting with a miracle again. The children's eyes are so wonderful when they  see the blooming flowers on the paper first time (watercolor on wet paper) or color change when they mix colors. Delight and disbelief that this beauty is made by themselves. Understanding that this miracle made by their hands - this is the birth of the Artist!

Sincerely yors Alla
