September, the beginning of school year

I was a student at the beginning  of September. Very interesting! The course was organized by University St. Mary, Calgary. http://stmu.ca/.

And then my students came to share their summer impressions with me. And I am sharing with all of you.  More pictures you can see in Gallery. Enjoy!

My holidays in BC

This holiday was planned by  my husband in April. Designated campsites, hotels were booked in advance. We heard a lot about BC. However, we didn't have an opportunity to visit the province.

The trip was planned with a few stops. First stop - Okanagan Lake. Where are my husband and son  showed "Show kebabs." The kebabs were ... yummy.

Then we rushed to the City of Victoria, which can be reached only by ferry.
We had a lot of walking around the Victoria city, visited museums. There were so many all kinds of trees, shrubs, flowers, everything is bright and fresh.

One day we got to the beach... beach of my dreams. We walked two kilometers along the rein forest on the prepared trail. However, the place was creepy and very strange . Sometimes trail was springy underfoot. When we got to the beach... we  forgot everything in the world: the cities, cars, mortgage, and so on... not very important things that filled our poor heads. We just wanted to watch, listen waves...

The next day we had planned to walk to the famous Butchart Gardens. There were many people, but the gardens were so beautiful. Day trip, concert and night trip...and no mosquitoes!

Then again, the ferry and we were in Vancouver.

My husband  made surprise for them. The cup of tea on a board.

And then  we were in the Park of Suspension Bridges.

By the way, we loved the hotel, which was located on the third floor of the market. The building was built on the historic market place on the bay.

In Vancouver Aquarium we all turned into children.

On the way back,  we stayed again by the Lake Okanagan. It was very hot.

Vacation is over. Now,  I have another part of my summer: study and work.

At the end of  August  I am going to work on the schedule and the program for my students.  I hope that my students have their great summer with wonderful impressions that we will put on a paper and canvas.

To be continued ...

Yours Alla.

Art Exhibition 2014

Summer is finally here. My students are already planning their holidays and vacations. Some are going to visit their grandparents, some go to enjoy the sunshine at the beach somewhere by the ocean. Therefore I decided to host this year's exhibition a little earlier, before they all leave.

This exhibition rounds up the past year and lets us have a fresh look at our works. Its all because, in a frame, those works look much more distinguished. Some parents even said: "You were saying that this picture was really well done, but I could't see it before it was put in a frame". This is all because the frames are a finishing touch that complete the picture.

I believe that the pictures, painted by your children, look a lot better than the prints of paintings done by famous artists. Its all because these prints don't have nearly that much feel in them. I once suggested to my friends, that spend a lot of time at work, to frame their child's picture and hang it in their office. Then, whenever you need a break, you can look at the picture and explore it for just 10-15 minutes, and, I kid you not, it will have just as much effect as 2 hours of sleep would. After trying it out, my friends said that this theory held up true in practice.

When kids draw their works of art, they share their pure emotions and feelings, putting them on the paper along with the medium they use for the picture. One look at such a masterpiece and you will also share the energy that was put into it. How is that for a little homemade miracle?

Thank you  to all my friends for the opportunity to share my passion to you.

My students' works can be seen on the Gallery page and I'm sharing with you some of the pictures taken at the Exhibition:
